Mumbai..

So.. finally I made it to Mumbai!! And I'm currently in some sort of hotel. The interesting thing here is.. Here in my room, the electric power control is neatly digitalized. That means.. I can operate everything.. from a central location (this is possible without digitalizing..:D) but you can also.. connect to a some kind of processor/control to do some sort of automation.. 

ps: people are doing it effectively.. it is just about time.. before I do it.

Mr. Bill

This is Mr. Bill. City Taxi driver.. and friend of mine... to write a couple of things about him.. in his words.. Old truck driver.. broke almost all of his bones and finally settled as a city taxi driver and before that he was there with Halliburton production enhancement group. likes to talk to people.. doesn't like sitting in office.. why am I telling about him...

He got a wonderful sence of humar.. one of his sentance "routine ain't that bad some times.. " He likes to drive like our drivers ;). Every day comes a little ealry in the evening to pick me up.. to catch a glimpse of his future (ex) wife.. ;)

anyways.. he told me.. he is going to make me do some nasty things.. before leaving me.. ;)

My Countdown..

I'm lucky...

What a coincidence (the word to defy reality).. yesterday I was thinking about my routine routine.. way of life.. and something happened today morning at 4am.. and made me happy :)

The key is keep learning, keep thinking, keep talking, keep posting.. ;), and finally keep DOING.

google reader says.. I post at a rate of 5.4 posts/week. Which is almost 6 posts per week.. man.. god (or someone like him) knows.. what the hell I'm writing.. by the way this is my 92nd post :D

Final.. day..

Though not officially.. today is my final working day here in Duncan. I finished whatever I need to do for the time I stay here. :) 

But unlike last time, today my mood is not that much elevated. Importance of events is dying down so.. fast now a days.. and to expect some thing to happen every day.. is, yes.. stupidity..

Example dream.. :D

Last time I talked about the nature of my dreams.. Today afternoon I slept. Somehow I got a dream.. 

The details are like this.. I was discussing something with a Chinese guy about how to design a custom surfactant molecule to enhance the wettability characteristics. The details of this part.. I forgot.. 

Anyway.. at the end of our discussion, one Chinese lady came. I guess her job is to design an apparatus to measure contact angle of a transparent surfactant solution. She was explaining the design principle of the equipment. It was quite interesting.. taking a circular strip of glass and pour adequate amount of clear surfactant solution and put a 'far-light source' to pass trough this fluid and analyse the resultant image, which will be concentrated light depending on the curvature of the fluid element on the glass strip. 

The thing is, the details the Chinese lady talked about are quite interesting. Image analysis to find the contant angle is kind of neat and this circular glass strip is good as it reduces the noice 'cas of circular symmetry.. and by the way... the optics principles were perfect. 

As I said.. my dreams also.. booooring..

Do I believe in god/mighty power?

I don't believe in praying to god. That far I'm sure.. 

anyway.. the thought started like this!! I was thinking about human eye and as we all know that we took.. too many years to understand the underlying theory!! If we believe that there is nothing called god and everything.. happend through evolution.. then, it is quite amazing the way.. evolution has understood the necessities for sensing.. and equally amazing the way.. it understood the physics and engineered some of our parts.. 

evolution.. the entire process of creating us, starting from unicellular organisms.. or infact nothing..  wow.. 

by the way.. have you ever thought about gentic algorithm. ??

if so.. no need to think about polution we create and the extent we spoil earth. Like, evolution.. killed dinosaurs and created better (at least as of now) species like us.. it may kill us and create less poluting species.. :)

deviating too much from the topic.. special theory of relativity says.. the solution for equation motion is singular when the body reaches light velocity. Means.. there is no way... you can not  reach light velocity. 

In the same way.. there is a discription for the entire univeserse based on big bang. Whose solution is singular at the estimated time of big bang.. which says.. we do not have any starting!! 

Tracking my TZ-5

Amazon gives a unique(may be not) option of tracking your shipment. Day before yesterday, I've ordered a cam and it is 40mins away now.. :). It is now in Lawton which is a nearby town to Duncan and a 30 min drive.

Update: got it and clicked some snaps.. :D. So far impressive.. 

This is macro mode: foci is 2 inches away. by the way thats my hair.. :D. and if you remember STAEDTLER.. the same pen.

nothing to explain i guess.. 

Tree focused through dirty glass window of my office.. autofocus works more or less fine... on a side note..  somebody has given me a far more superior autofocus for my eyes. Gosh.. autozoom + autofocus would have been much better.. :D

Me & Creativity...

What.. ?

Long time back..  I was talking with my closest one about the nature of my marks transcript. It is kind of funny.. it used to have.. above 90's or near stamps (people from JNTU will understand stamps). The distribution is almost two peaks.. I used to do good with certain type of problems and equally bad with others.. They are of specific kind.. like Managerial Economics.. 

On a different context, I was talking about the creativity.. like 'comparing nature with a lady and comparing the whole greenary with saari'. As such I don't have a problem with these (and nobody cares) but I was thinking about my inability to creat such a work.. 

I told that there are certain things.. that I can't do... I can't even give an average performance. But the feed back was, "no.. this is what I feel about others.. not you"

Now.. why the hell I digg all these things.. ? today morning I was going through some of the telugu blogs. I was really tempted, by the kind of Telugu they use.., to think in those lines.. Hey... the problem is the same. I can't create/imagine beyond what I know.. I can build on them.

Some times it feels so funny the way my dreams turn out.. they are also.. so structured and never go beyond practical limits.. means they are aslo.. practically possible.. !!

kind of sucks right..??

One year.. Part II & III

I thought I would write about part II and III separately, I found it not of an interesting read.. but there is a striking change.. in my approach.. 

with studies, it is always about the content not the presentation. if you have enough strength in the content you provide.. people more than capable of understanding!! now.. (at least for me) it is not about the content.. but how far I can convince my management about an idea and my ability. The challenge is, some times they can't understand and most of the times.. the don't listen.. :)

Anyways.. So far.. things are working fine for me.. 

Finally.. A cam :)

Finally I decided to spend some money beyond my basic necessities. After some push from my family I wanted to buy a camera.. Panasonic Lumix DMC TZ-5.

Even though, the name, Panasonic, terrifies a bit, it comes with a Leica lens (if you have seen Euro Trip movie, will remember a Leica cam ;) ) and a neat 10x zoom. It is a little bulky for a P&S but works for my needs as still and video camera as I bought this along with 8 Gigs of memory. One more much applauded feature of this model is its sharp LCD, the best for a camera. 

One more thing.. it comes with a wide angle lens (not common for a P&S) :)

PS: This model got best reviews so far in this range.

One year.. Part I

(IISc final days)

I have completed my one year with this job (in a new place) by last Aug 16th. I haven't given much thought to it then.. but now, I'm thinking it would be good if I look back.. 

I left IISc on 13th of August. Everybody left that place one month (even more) before except me, Arun & Mari!! Mari is altogether a different person so.. me & Arun used to roam together. Funny days.. we used to sleep in the labs and get back to Sivaram's room in the morning get freshen up. (by that time they took back our rooms and canceled mess registration). So... then to goto coffee board for coffee and breakfast etc.. 

Anyways.. I worked till 3 o' clock that night (should be 12th) and completed my report and met my boss at 10am to say my bye bye.. the only words from his mouth were 'ok.. fine'. I returned to my (ex) lab and sat there.. then Sivaram came and asked me what happened. We laughed and cursed boss and after that anki joined the party. We went to coffee board and it was almost time for me to leave... I have to thank sivaram for taking care of some minor issues like backing up all my data.. He was a very good lab mate and neat company.

And fially 'I'm supposed to leave'.. everybody in the 2006 batch gave send off to me (atleast people with whom I used to talk more friendly) and interestingly Arun was missing.. ;) you could expect this from him..  anyways.. I guess I got hold of him.. later. 

I almost forgot.. mean while Gopal was getting settled in Pune. I started writing this long long mails to him. It eventually turned out into this blogging.. 

There ends the saga.. 

vacation..

for 4 months.. walking through my assignments.. day by day.. done!! & I got a vacation for 1 month :) 

I'm just thinking.. what will I do for that one month... may be roam around my home town (village infact) catch my old old friends.. eat mysore bujjis watch a lot of movies in palakol (city near by).. eat food cooked by my mom's hands. Go to vijag.. roam in city buses.. goto my college, beach.. ooh.. gosh.. this list goes on.. but before there is onemore month to go... before all these :(

life rocks.. !!!!

 

BLunt thoughts..

AFter a tiresome day.. when I got back to my room.. I found myself so restless...  I googled all over the net.. I searched the entire orkut.. my mail account and my comp... to know more!!

Updates.. 6/10/08

Its been almost 10 days.. since I posted something. So.. what happened? I was not patient enough these days to think about anything.. continuously.. and write. I'm now a days working on streamlining my work habits. (Trying to reduce my randomness ;) )

What else is happening.. ? I watched a movie "The fountain head". (A movie version of the novel The fountain head). Funnily.. my imagination is more exciting that the movie. So.. 

And from work wise.. completed one or two reports and a meeting.. and headed towards a meeting tomorrow..  :(. This job is kind of funny!! less work and more of management and travelling.. and by the way my return is schedule on 26th this month. Good for me...

Now.. planning.. tomorrow's schedule.. :D
